POL is a dedicated, instant-browser styled information
system, stored on a computer situated at point of sale in
an electrical retail store.
Most sales staff are not allowed web access or email that
is not intranet controlled, which is why POL is currently
provided on a monthly CD-Rom.
POL provides instant access to comprehensive detail
(text, photographic) for the store's complete range
of products. POL displays the information on a computer
monitor (or preferably on a large screen) and is accessed
simply by 'point and click' mouse operation. Selected product
information can be quickly printed in brochure style for a
customer's immediate reference.
